Cornflakes Were Invented to Stop Sex!

Did you know that the nations favourite breakfast cereal, Kellogg’s CornFlakes were actually invented to stop people having sex. No, I’m not making this up, and no, I haven’t been having an early morning drink. This is deadly honest.

It seems that inventor John Harvey Kellogg was trying to find a way of stopping society from going sex mad, and in doing so, disintegrating.

Kellogg believed that sexual desire was wrong, and that playing with yourself would cause diseases.

Even though he was married, it was said that he never ever had sex with his wife, instead spending his time writing anti-sex books and trying to create a food that that would stop people having sex with others, or even themselves.

In his book Plain Facts for Old and Young: Embracing the Natural History and Hygiene of Organic Life, he explained: “If illicit commerce of the sexes is a heinous sin, self-pollution is a crime doubly abominable.”

He sounds like a really fun guy!

He stated that having sex would cause general infirmity, defective development, epilepsy and stuff joints, amongst many other horrible defects.

It was when he was working at Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan that he developed dietary alternatives to nookie.

In the end, he created Kellogg’s Cornflakes which became incredibly popular. Whether they stopped people going at it like rabbits I don’t know, but they certainly have had an impact on the world.

Now is this all sounds a little ridiculous. Still, this isn’t half as bad as his alternatives for children who enjoyed masturbating.

For boys, he recommended threading silver wire through the foreskin to stop erections.

With girls, he allegedly applied carbolic acid to the clitoris to burn it and discourage touching.

Well, that is pretty out of order. So next time you are eating Cornflakes, make sure that you go and have sex with your partner straight after, just as a bit of a ‘screw you’ to John Kellogg.

I wonder what he would have thought about the escort industry? I suspect it would have probably killed him off to be fair!
