Last week we brought you the rather amusing story of a Cardiff company which had allegedly made their logo look like an ejaculating willy. However, it seems that the ‘Dirty Bird chicken van had no idea that it may have looked rather rude!
Logo designer Mark James said there was no intention of making it look rude, and instead claims he tried to create a barnyard bird.
“We were given the name Dirty Bird as the brief, and started working on ideas. We looked at the initials, DB. Then worked with the lowercase ‘db’ linking them to form the shape of a rooster. It’s a graphic representation of a rooster incorporating the initials. It depends on how you look at it. I’m not sure there have been any complaints. A few comments, but it’s in the eye of the beholder, as they say.”
It is a stand backed by company owner Neil Young.
“We’ve never really thought about it like that. Our designer created a d and b for ‘dirty bird’ then pushed them together to make a cockerel,”
Though they do sound rather convincing, anyone who read the original article will know the food truck does also have saucy giant posters telling customers to “Touch My Thigh” and “Touch My Breast.”
I Smell B*******
OK, I will come clean; I am slight dubious that this wasn’t intentional.
Still, I have to give them credit…it is brilliant publicity. And by all accounts the food is pretty good.
Fair play I say! Just don’t ever expect to see that logo on your local high street anytime soon!
